HEIDI HENSLEY, LPC-MHSP

Heidi Hensley is a masters-level clinician who has been working with families and individuals from infancy to late adulthood for over ten years. Originally from the Nashville are(a), Heidi graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and then went on to earn her Master’s in Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University, completing her internship in assessing and counseling young children and adults. 


Heidi has spent her professional career treating a variety of presenting mental health challenges, but largely focused on trauma, eating disorders, behavioral struggles, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and parenting. She has over six years of experience treating clients with eating disorders at both the inpatient and outpatient levels, and she is trained in Family Based Therapy for Eating Disorders. In addition, Heidi is skilled in working with young children, having received training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) at the University of South Florida. She has worked with this younger population across multiple settings, most notably with adoptive families and those with a trauma history. Heidi utilizes many evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, depending on the needs of the client or family. 


Heidi believes in empowering and challenging her clients to reach their goals towards health and wellness. She enjoys helping parents realize they have everything it takes to support their child through the difficulties of life while learning and strengthening their parenting skills. Helping clients appreciate and utilize their own power is what she believes can create long term success. Her approach is rooted in identifying strengths and joining families and clients where they are as they work together towards positive change.
