She has over eight years of experience working with children and adolescents at both Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit and Catholic Charities of Tennessee. For the past several years, she has been working with children and teens adopted through the foster care system by helping them overcome the trauma/neglect of their past and connecting with their new forever families. Jessica believes that kids heal and grow through relationships, so she often incorporates family therapy into her sessions to help strengthen a child/teen’s sense of safety and connection to his/her parents. Building on this family systems approach, Jessica loves providing parent coaching to help parents identify emotional needs driving their children’s negative behaviors and help establish a plan for re-connection and correcting.
