WHY IS NUTRITION COUNSELING BENEFICIAL?

Food has the unique capability to either damage or enhance one’s physical and mental health. The human body needs a balance of carbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins, and minerals for it to function and grow optimally. Adequate nutrition starts with balance, variety, adequacy, and flexibility. When any of these components are absent, things can start to go awry. Poor nutrition is associated with a variety of issues, including inadequate growth, impaired immunity, mental disorders, psychological distress, gastrointestinal distress, fatigue, preoccupation with food, and weight fluctuations, among other things.
In addition to nutrition counseling for individuals, we also offer nutrition counseling for families that desire to maintain healthy eating habits, despite busy schedules and rushed meal times. Many families struggle with knowing exactly what and how much their children should be eating, and have yet to strike a healthy balance. Family nutrition consultations will teach families how to incorporate health, balance, and fun into their family’s nutrition, while avoiding power struggles and arguments at the dinner table.
