Providers at Nashville Child and Family Wellness Center all have a family-based approach with some offering specialized family therapy using evidence-based mehtods. NCFWC looks at family health from a systems perspective.  Each member of the family contributes to the health or discomfort of the group, whether they live in or outside the home.  Our family therapy focuses on enhancing communication between members, recognizing mixed messages that often occur within the family, and strengthening family resilience during difficult times.  By allowing family members to feel safe in expressing their wants and needs, the family grows closer and more secure.

Director of Therapy and Assessment Services

Emily Hardcastle, LCSW provides individual and group therapy to children, adolescents and adults, specializing in depression, anxiety disorders, OCD, ADHD, emotion dysregulation, behvioral difficulties and parenting.   Emily attended University of Illinois, ChampaignUrbana, and Belmont University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She completed her Master of Science in Social Work at Columbia University and a year of post-graduate training in Family Therapy at Ackerman Institute in New York City.  She is a certified therapist and Level 1 Trainer in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Habit Reversal Training (HRT). She enjoys working from a family systems perspective, working closely with parents to help support children and adolescents.


Clinical Psychologist

Hilary Hughes, Psy.D.,HSP is a licensed clinical psychologist committed to providing evidence-based therapy and testing/assessment services for children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Hughes obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Tulsa Center for Child Psychology, where she received supervision and specialized training in empirically supported treatments for children and adolescents, family therapy, developmental evaluations, neuropsychological evaluations, and psychoeducational evaluations. Dr. Hughes provides a range of assessment services, including autism and ADHD testing, in addition to providing individual and family therapeutic services that address anxiety, trauma, depression, deficits in social functioning, behaviors related to developmental delays, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, tics, and disruptive behaviors. Dr. Hughes also provides Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).


Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist

Caroline Hartman, LPC-MHSP, CEDS is a licensed professional counselor who brings a wealth of passion and experience to her work with children, teens, adults and families/caregivers who have been directly impacted by disordered eating, eating disorders, anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Caroline brings five plus years of experience working in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient settings. She obtained her Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) credential through the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals Foundation in July 2018.  Caroline also provides Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).


Adolescent, Couples and Family Therapist

Ryan Duprey, PhD, LMFT is passionate about helping adolescents, couples, and families work together to achieve higher levels of happiness and satisfaction. Dr. Duprey has been practicing family therapy in Nashville for over 10 years, implementing humor and creativity to highlight family strengths. He holds a PhD in Clinical Counseling: Teaching and Supervision, and a Masters in Marriage Counseling and Family Therapy: from Trevecca Nazarene University. He is a licensed Marriage Counseling and Family Therapist. Trained in evidence-based treatment practices, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Attachment Self-Regulation and Competency (ARC), and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Ryan uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Object Relations, and Family Systems Theory to help clients have more satisfaction with their relationships through communication and understanding.



Jessica Chapman, LCSW specializes in trauma and attachment issues but also provides therapy for children and teens who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, anger issues, family conflict, or are struggling with behavioral problems. Jessica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and a Level 1 and Level 2 certified EMDR therapist with specialized training in EMDR for children. She is certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)


Post-doctoral Clinical Psychologist

Liza Du Plessis, Psy.D., is a clinical psychologist dedicated to delivering evidence-based therapeutic services for children, adolescents, adults, and families struggling with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and adjustment issues. She is trained in and uses evidence-based approaches, such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive-behavioral (CBT), solution-focused, and strength- and mindfulness-based strategies. Dr. Du Plessis also provides Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).


Child, Adolescent, and Adult therapist

Stephanie Pennacchia, MS is a Master’s Level clinician who has passion for providing psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Stephanie specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, and depression. Since graduating, Stephanie has worked in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, crisis work, and outpatient therapy. She uses evidenced-based approaches including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Stephanie enjoys helping clients overcome barriers, decrease symptom use, increase coping, and ultimately help you reach your goals.


Individual, Family, and Couples Therapist

Jen Biddle, LPC-MHSP provides therapy for individuals, couples, and families affected by mood disorders, anxiety, trauma and attachment issues, adolescent behaviors, co-occurring disorders, and couples’ concerns. She received her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at Middle Tennessee State University in 2008 and has been a practicing clinician for over a decade. Jen has training and experience evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and the well-researched Gottman Method for couples (Level 3).



Addy Turiano, MS is a Master’s Level clinician who excels in treating children, adolescents, and young adults. Since graduating, Addy has worked in outpatient therapy treating clients across the age span with a variety of disorders and presenting issues. She is also trained and uses multiple evidence-based therapies including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT). Addy enjoys connecting with young clients and making therapy both engaging and focused.
